Merit Badges

Whether it's offering a Merit Badge at your home unit or advising a future Eagle Scout, a mentor is by far the most impactful role an Adult Leader can play. This official BSA Training is Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills, and it's more than just "how to camp." You'll get essentially a master class on how to offer the best program you can back in your home troop!

  • Basic Camping Skills

  • Scouting aims and ideals

  • Eagle Mentorship

  • Mythbusting: "Aging Out" of scouting

  • How to teach a teacher (growing scouts into leaders)

Available to ages 18 and up. Takes place during Program Block 2. You'll recieve an official training certification card for your wallet upon completion.

Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. If you plan on being an adult leader for a High Adventure Trek or other event, this is a great training to have and this Certification is often required. Rather than taking time off to travel to and pay for another course, take the training at Wehinahpay while your here with your Unit!
