Year Round Camping at Wehinahpay Mountain Camp
The Sacramento Mountains have four gorgeous seasons, each offering perfect temperatures for year round outdoor activity.
SUMMER: The time of year when the canyon fills with laughter and sunshine... literally! Wehinahpay hosts over 200 scouts and volunteers each week during our ever-expanding resident summer camp program. In summer 2022 we hope to establish more campsites and a streamlined Merit Badge system that'll be a fast track to success without sacrificing an ounce of adventure.
We've dedicated many months to designing an accessible, unique and simple to navigate process of the BSA Summer Camp experience. As we continue to improve we understand that many of our Troops, Crews and Adult Leaders may have questions about the new process. So here's a map!
FALL: A secluded and cozy getaway with interior access to Forest Lands? sounds like a mountain cabin paradise. Whether it's a tranquil retreat, an Elk hunters' best kept secret, or the perfect setting for a service project, Troop weekender or camp-out; Wehinahpay is available to scouters and non-scouters alike. The property mixes a bit of gold aspen into our lush green pine for a pristine autumn backdrop.
WINTER: The winter can seem daunting to many, but you don't have to be an experienced explorer to conquer the wilderness. We give you everything you need for a successful and comfortable winter experience at Hay Canyon High Adventure Base. Join us for the pilot season of our all-inclusive wilderness adventure. For those of us who are looking for a rugged challenge or stoked on the heated cabin after a long snow-day, Wehinahpay tailors the trek to your Crew. Developed by our experienced team of guides and using the BSA's Standards for Winter-camping, we're beyond excited for you to share in all that our mountains have to offer.
